BEGINNING OF OUR SUMMER TRAVELS

Hello everyone. Well we had a great vacation with our kids and grand kids and are now ON THE ROAD AGAIN. We left Florida on July 17 with our first major stop being near Cape May, NJ which, as most of you know, was our hometown area for over twenty years. So we visited old friends, went to the beach and just happened to be there on August 4th for the Coast Guard's 225th birthday which was quite a party. Then off to New York with a stop at the US Military Academy at West Point. We had never been there before and decided to stop for a couple of days and do a tour. We then parked in Copake NY in order to visit family in the area and on Long Island. It so happened that we stayed at the campground that was one of the first we stayed in with our 17' travel trailer in 1974 and almost the same site a loooooong time ago. The park is now a KOA and much improved. We are now in Lake George, NY a place we both visited when we were younger but haven't been here since. It is obviously a tourist area but very beautiful. So we did some sightseeing and went for a cruise on the lake on the paddle wheeler Minne-Ha-Ha. Then to finish off we had a nice dinner at the Boathouse Restaurant. One of our favorite restaurants in the Cape May area was the Boathouse in Wildwood. So anytime we see a Boathouse Restaurant we feel we have to dine there. Well tomorrow we are off to Cape Cod.
