COLUMBIA ICE FIELDS

After Lake Louise and Banff, we headed north to the Columbia Icefields in Jasper National Park.  The icefield is what is left of the giant ice sheet that formed the Canadian Rockies about 10,000 years ago.  It is made up of many glaciers including the Athabsca glacier that we rode to and walked on.  Needless to say, it was quite cold.  I walked a very short distance, remembered that ice and snow were the main reasons we left New Jersey and moved to Florida, then went back to the bus.
