SAVANNAH, GEORGIA

After Brunswick and Jekyll Island we had a 2 day stop in Savannah.  Savannah was developed in the late 1600's by James Oglethorpe who laid out the city in squares.  The original layout  continues today so it seems that we were constantly make left and right turns on our trolley tour.  We saw lots of nice old houses and lots of squares on our city tour. we were then dropped off and had a river cruise and buffet luncheon on the Savannah River Queen. Being the home of Paula Deen's famous Lady and Son restaurant several of us ate dinner there. Savannah was also the birthplace of the girl scouts so I guess that's why they seemed to be all over the place.
