CAPE COD AND BOSTON

After we left Copake, NY we drove to Cape Cod and stayed at Joint Base Cape Cod (the old Otis Air Force Base) for several days.   From there we drove to Provincetown for the day to see the sites.  We enjoyed our visit to the National Seashore and the Life Saving Station.  After Cape Cod we stayed in Marshfield (between the Cape and Boston) at another Air Force instillation.  This time it was at 4th Cliff which was a WWII shore defense battery and is now a recreation area with RV spaces, cabins and areas for tents.
We then drove to Boston where we stayed at Hanscom AFB at their "Famcamp".  We toured Boston by taking a "hop on-hop off" trolley tour which also included a boat tour of the harbor. The swan boats are in Boston Gardens across the street from "Cheers". The pics of us on the ferry and Groton, CT were taken on our way to LI.  An unplanned but expected visit for my Mom's funeral.  At the age of 94 she finally is at peace.
We are leaving the Boston area today (Sept. 15th) to drive to Stowe, VT to meet our group for the Fall Colors tour.  Let's hope for some great shots of New England in the fall, hopefully the trees will cooperate.
