ANCHORAGE ALASKA

Anchorage is the most modern and largest city in Alaska with almost 1/2 the state population and has only been around since the railroad arrived in the 1930's.  There seemed to be more small planes than cars and I was scheduled to take a flight in one of the float planes but the weather didn't cooperate.  As a matter of fact, it is the only airport in  the country that has both land and water runways.  While in Anchorage we had a city bus tour and visited the ULU factory.  For those who don't know, an ulu is a curved blade with a handle that was traditionally used by eskimos.  Yes, that is a chocolate fountain supposed largest in the world.  It was in the Wildberry farm and chocolate factory that we visited on the tour.  And not to disappoint anyone, we are eating again.  We had a "staff prepared"  egg in a bag breakfast.
