INTRODUCTION TO MEXICO

We  started the11day Adventure Caravans Intro to Mexico trip on 1/6/13 in Gila Bend, AZ with 15 RVs and we traveled the next day to Puerto Penasco, Mexico (a distance of about 150 miles). We parked on the beach at Playa Bonita RV park like we did in October. I'm not going to repost beach pictures. Please go back to my posts of 11/3 and 11/28 to get the flavor of the beach. Our weather was not very good and it was cold most of the time but we did manage to squeeze in a fishing trip, a little site seeing, shopping and of course eating. We had a seafood "dump" dinner with plenty of shrimp. In my mind this must be the shrimp capital of the world. We also had a fish dinner where the whole fish was flash fried and served. You then pulled pieces off made and ate your own fish tacos. We had never seen fish prepared or served this way. When we went fishing one of the guests caught a Pelican. Unfortunately it did not qualify him for the largest catch. Do not be disturbed by the pictures - the Pelican was not hurt.  The hook was taken out and he swam a short distance away but stayed close enough just in case we tossed something overboard. The mate was also our chef. He took some of the fish we caught and made ceviche which we then put in tacos and had for lunch.  Most of the group also went ATV riding however I did not so, sorry no pictures. On 1/16 we escorted the group back to the border at Lukeville, AZ and we continued on towards San Diego and our next assignment.
