Rio Travelers: CABO SAN LUCAS

We got to "Cabo" for a 5 day stay which included a bus tour of both Cabo San Lucas and San Jose de Cabo as well as lots of free time to explore and a catamarran sunset (aka booze) cruise around the cape from the Sea of Cortez to the Pacific ocean.

The bus tour included a tour of the city of Cabo San Lucas, a cruise on a glass bottom boat to Land's End arch and Lover's Beach, a visit to a glass blowing factory and lunch and a tour of the quieter cape - San Jose de Cabo. The glass blowing factory is one of my favorite places. This was our third visit and I never fail to buy some glassware.

The sunset cruise was great and, not only did we have food and an open bar and a great sunset, we saw humpback whales as well.

On one of our free days nine of us went sport fishing. We rented two boats but fishing wasn't as good as we had hoped and Ken caught the only fish on our boat. So there went our dreams of catching a Marlin. However, the fish Ken caught was a yellow fin (ahi) tuna and Judy on the other boat caught a wahoo and the restaurant at the campground where we were staying cooked both for us that evening. The wahoo was good and the tuna, which was blackened and pan seared was some of the best I have ever had. Unfortunately, we have no pictures from the second boat so the Marlin that Danny caught remains a fish story only.
