As you can see, we have been very busy!
On Sunday, we headed downtown to see 3 parades(Krewes of Carrollton, King Arthur and Alla). All spectacular with lots of marching bands and these aren't even the BIG ones. After collecting lots of beads we headed to Mulate's for an authentic Cajun meal and entertainment.
Monday had us visiting Mardi Gras World where many of the floats are created then we went to the Court of Two Sisters for an excellent jazz brunch. The restaurant is on Bourbon Street and has been in operation since the 1800's. The weather was beautiful and we were able to eat in the courtyard while listening to some great music. We were able to walk off lunch with a visit to the National World War II museum. It is a huge complex and is still growing. Ken apologizes for the lack of photos taken there. We were too busy seeing everything. The evening ended with a visit to Pat O'Brien's for Hurricanes and more great music. Hurricanes are a rum drink made famous by Pat O'Brien and the music was "dueling pianos". I think I can say that a fun day and evening was had by all.
Tuesday was the day to do a plantation tour, with a visit to "Laura" a Creole plantation then on to "Oak Alley" an American plantation for lunch and a tour of the house.
