MONTREAL

After our stay in Shelburne/Burlington, VT we headed north in search of some Fall Colors.  We crossed the border into Quebec province with Montreal as our first stop.   The weather continued to be very mild and the leaves are only beginning to change but we had a great bus tour of Montreal starting with a stop at the site of the 1976 Olympics (remember Bruce Jenner) where we took the funicular (like a slow, diagonal elevator) to the top of the tower for great view of the city.  It was then on to the Biodome to see flora and fauna of different climates.   The tour also included lunch at a very large underground mall and a visit to Notre Dame Basilica.  Montreal is the second largest French speaking city in the world and, for those planning a visit, all signage is in French without English "subtitles".
A high point to our visit was being able to see the lunar eclipse on a beautiful, clear and relatively warm night where the entire group was able to sit outside, sip some hot chocolate, toast marshmallows over the campfire an enjoy each others company.

  1. What, no pictures of Mount Washington? We were there this past August. It was awesome. Sun, fog, light rain, 50 mph wind, etc.
