OUR VISIT TO WASHINGTON DC

We haven't done our blog for a while since we were in DC in early June. Most of these pictures will be familiar. This one is the Capitol from the National Mall. We didn't get to the Capitol - just ran out of time. The bronze statue is from the Museum of the American Indian. That was one of the Smithsonian museum we had not visited ye. It was very interesting. The next picture is the Vietnam Memorial. There is also a memorial to Women in Service in Vietnam that I had not seen before.

The newest Memorial in DC is the WWII memorial. It is huge and beautifully done. Then, of course, there is the Washington Monument. We had actually climbed it when you were allowed, years ago.
